First Grade Kid Friendly Math CCSS Freebie

Printable Math CCSS for First Grade.  These match the ELA CCSS for First Grade found here!

I have included blank cards.  You can rewrite some of the standards into a more simple "I Can" statement.  I wanted to create cards with the correct language, taken from the Common Core.  However, you can adapt these to fit your class.
Another great use is to take the vocabulary words for first grade, and use the blank cards as flashcards.  Write the word on one, the definition on another, and an example on a third.  Students can match the three cards!

I would love to hear from you!  Let me know if there are any problems with these!

Teacher/Kid Friendly Math CCSS K5 Freebie

Printable Math CCSS for Kindergarten.  At the K5 level, these are more teacher-friendly that kid-friendly.   These match the ELA CCSS for Kindergarten found here!

I have included blank cards.  You can rewrite some of the standards into a more simple "I Can" statement.  I wanted to create cards with the correct language, taken from the Common Core.  However, you can adapt these to fit your kindergarten class.  For example, you could have a sequence of "I Can" statements that reflect the learning taking place in you classroom.
I can count to 5!  I can count to 10!  I can count to 20!
Another great use is to take the math words that I have listed on one card, and use the blank cards as flashcards.  Write the word on one, the definition on another, and an example on a third.  Students can match the three cards!

I would love to hear from you!  Let me know if there are any problems with these!

Football Multiplication Game

I just love Dollar Tree!  I found this football tray yesterday and thought it would make a cute game.

I made footballs for the 1's and 2's multiplication tables.  To play, place the footballs with the problems on the front in the middle of the tray.  Every time a student gets the correct answer, they get a point.  I have two different colored footballs for points. Points go on the sides of the tray.  You can write the correct answer on the back of the footballs or give each student a times-table checking sheet.  The winner is the one with the most points.  Click on the pictures to download the printables.
If you download, please leave a comment.  I would love for you to follow my blog!  I will post the rest of the tables soon!

And...Go Clemson Tigers!! My favorite football team!

Fly Swatter Ideas for Math and Vocabulary

Little Miss Kindergarten mentioned the hand shaped fly swatters from Dollar General, so I had to run out and buy some!  Here are some ideas for using them:

Vocabulary Cloud
Wordle: AntonymsMake a word cloud of important vocabulary. Students are divided into groups.  Each team has a fly swatter. Call out the definition and the first team member to swat the word wins.   I made my cloud at Wordle.net.

Fly Swatter Math Game
Draw nine large squares on the chalk board or whiteboard and write a number in the middle of each. Divide the students into two teams and give each team a fly swatter. To begin the game, have one student from each team take their fly swatter and stand at the front of the class with their backs turned to the chalk board. As soon as you call out a math problem, the two students must turn around and touch the box containing the correct answer with the fly swatter. The student to hit the correct box first wins. To avoid confusion, make sure you are standing close enough so you can see who hit it first. Then erase the numbers in the boxes, write new numbers and have another student from each team take a turn. The team who answers the most problems correctly by the end of the game wins.
